Hello.. Just checking if this group has any members who has booked in Maple Grove?

I have just heard from Andrew Thornley, the case officer for the Cadet Hut planning application, that the application has been refused. For full details view the application on Sutton Councils website and click on ‘View Decision Notice Summary’ in green strip at bottom of page. Cheers, Jeff

The NDG have just responded to the Cadet Hut application.  If you feel the same, you can download a word version and change what you want to make it easier.  Deadline is Friday 13 October - unlucky for some!

Cadet Hut Application

I'm sure many of you will have received the new planning application for the old Cadet Hut.  Seems the developer isn't happy with the approved application for 2 houses and has submitted an application for 3 houses again.

Only Sutton Council knows that one, perhaps 97,98 Corbet Close! But then where is 1 - 72 Corbet Close.

Perhaps there needs to be some consultation with the current houses owners in Corbet Close to find out which they would prefer. Personally I would rather be Maple Grove. Corbet Close does have a lot of history attached to it.

What a mess, but then Sutton Council are very good at causing chaos.

Hmm, I don't know.  Am I right in saying that existing residents would like a name change from Corbet Close?

Also need to remember there are still the two houses to be built on the cadet hut, what will their address be?!

So does that mean that one side of the road will remain Corbet Close and the new development side of the road will be Maple Close?

That could be an interesting scenario.

A further update following a telephone conversation with Stephen French, Project Manager today.

First to confirm Stephen Frenchs telephone number is incorrect. It should be 07787 006272.

Start dates for beginning to build the houses have changed yet again. I was told this further delay is due to delays and paperwork problems involving the London Borough of Sutton.

It is now likely to begin by the end of July or August/September 2016.

This is an update following a further conversation I had with Stephen French. He confirmed that following a recent excavation there was nothing found of significance archaeologically. He also said English Hertitagee have told Rydons to dig a further three trenches for archaeological excavation. Rydons are in the process of appointing a company to carry out this work. This means the first houses will now start to be constructed from April 2016.
