I should have added quickly that they are proposing to build three detached houses, each with four bedrooms over four storeys, so the same size as the bulk of The Wave flats.

The planning application for the cadet hut has now been submitted to Sutton Council.  Deadline is 29 August for comments.

Have a look at the NDG site for further information to get onto the portal to view more detail.

I have been recently informed that the Cadet Hut was purchased by Rydons and there plans are to build a further 4 houses on that land. I have not seen any plans yet to confirm this.

The council had also notified British GAS that demolition works were to be carried out in Corbet Close but they forgot to mention that 25 private houses  would remain and would still require GAS. All accounts were closed and direct debits cancelled! This has now been resolved and the Direct Debits have been renewed.

The Council have also placed several notices up on lamp posts giving notice that a Compulsory Purchase Order has been submitted to the Government for 1 - 72 Corbet Close and Nightingale Close.

I have had an email from Rick Martinez saying that work should start on the redevelopment in July/August this year. We will see!

I wouldn't be surprised if Rydon or Sutton Council acquire the land and build a couple of houses on it as part of the redevelopment of Corbet. After all, they did try and buy the land a few years ago with no success!

what large trees are still there a lovely Horse Chestnut by the back entrance to the Green and another about the area that the flats are in,various fruit trees aside the river in the far corner and Cedar trees to the left of the drive as you come along . This property should never have been destroyed,it was the start of Hackbridge so in my book it was a HERITAGE PROPERTY and should have been kept, as i have said before it was in good repair and only needed minor repairs and may i say ,after building my own house here in Aussie with my Husband and i mean just the two of us i could do it myself.Doris H
