I saw in the Fish n chip shop yesterday that there is a meeting on Thursday to give us an update on the community, maybe there will be some one from the council that can tell us what is going on?  Do we know if the re-devolopement plans for Corbet have been passed yet?

I have just sent off a letter (edited version below) to our police community support officer and other key community people:
I am sure you are getting a number of complaints and alerts regarding current activities in Corbet Close.
I have been kept awake twice recently with the noise from outside. I took photos on Saturday 15th September morning showing the debris left behind including the last remains of a smashed-up bicycle in the stairwell. On another occasion all the lights were smashed on one of the balconies. Yesterday some youths were attempting to break into the wall by our garages. Graffiti appears regularly. Cars, walls and porches present tempting targets.
We have had breakins to the vacated properties and I am pleased that the council is reasonably prompt in boarding them up. However, I am disturbed to be told that some are being reopened and refurbished - I hope that if this is true, it is for very short term tenants!
I do not think the absence of up to date information from the council is helpful and I would like to suggest an urgent meeting with the residents (particularly those in the houses) with police, community support, council planners, and Hackbridge planners present. We need to know the current planning time framework for Corbet Close, and together we need a strategy to minimise disturbance. We must stop the antisocial behaviour before it gets worse, and involve the families concerned. This should then be reported at the next Hackbridge Forum.

Hi all, just sent in my comments to

Mark Smith, developmentcontrol@sutton.gov.uk

- mainly on trees, pavements, parking, name, neighbourhood heating... and the fact we still seem not to have received our letter about the planning despite being almost next to it!

I have just been online and seen that the planning notification has not been sent to all addresses in Corbet Close - see here for list of addresses notified - a very strange selection!.

someone was asking about who owned Hackbridge House - I found this:

Hackbridge House. The house was there before 1821 and was the home of the Goad family. It was sold in 1908 to become a hotel and then a hostel for army cadets while the grounds were covered by miscellaneous development. It was replaced by housing in 1970. Here's a map showing HB House. And the link to this fascinating info - and lots more!

e.g. Hackbridge Green
Surrey Iron Railway route came from the bridge and ran along the road at the edge of the green between the 18th cottages and the pub on the eastern side of the road.
Houses were built round The Green in the early 19th for workers for the Goad family (who owned Hackbridge House). There are also two groups of 18th Cottages.

Hi - thanks for putting the plans up, and I am keen to know the suggestions for improving the garage area (necessary compensation for the years of damage?).
