Sorry, to make clear on the above, I realise that if the house was where Corbet Close is now, it can't be the same as the one on my plan but my question is whether the house was definitely on the site of Corbet Close? Not impossible by any means, but it would seem strange if there was a Hackbridge Park and a Hackbridge Lodge in such close proximity, both with curved driveway!

Hi all,

Just found this thread which is quite old so I hope some of the contributors will see this. I notice there's a discussion of cedar trees and part of the curved driveway still being visible in Corbet Close. I have just moved into a house in Hackbridge Park Gardens and wondered whether Hackbridge House had also been formerly known as Hackbridge Lodge? I have a plan from 1937 which shows this house with a curved driveway where Hackbridge Park Gardens now stands, with the driveway for the house going from Nightingale Road along the cut-through path to Hackbridge Park Gardens. I will post a picture of the plan on here but any information would be gratefully received.
